Lunch at Gala Thai

We finally had a break from our busy schedule and took some time out to devour some quality Thai food from this new cafe in West End. As a bonus everything was ordered using a tablet (image below), so we didn’t have to do anything but eat :) .

Drinks:

We decided to go easy on our stomachs, and have diet coke and sparkling passionfruit.

Entree:

Satay Chicken Skewers

This chicken was nicely cooked left still juicy on the inside, with the right amount of seasoning coating it. I am a lover of all things peanut butter, and this satay sauce was spot on.

Peking Duck Pancakes

Light, and paper thin pancake filled with a moist duck slice with the delicious skin attached… Super delicious, and the hoisin sauce worked well with the fresh vegetables

Mains:

Gai Yaang

Grilled chicken, is one of the classic Thai street food dishes and it was represented very well. Nice, moist chicken with a delicious apple salad ( I love green apple slices in a salad), sprinkled with peanuts 😊. A really tasty mid-day meal.

Duck Tam

Sliced roast duck with an Asian salad. Beautiful dish, with succulent moist duck as the key element. Really refreshing and light, went down a treat. Great crispy skin on the duck slices.

Dessert

Always have to end an greatmeal with an incredible dessert, and this was no exception. Fresh mango accompanied with powerful yuzu ice cream, and crushed nuts. Thankfully we just managed to grab the last one of these, exactly what we need to prepare for the warm walk to come.

Conclusion:

Served by friendly and welcoming staff, and the food was very nice while coming out of the kitchen fast. The menu was well laid out, and the tablets made it easy to order once they were explained to us 😊.

It was nice to have a a bit of a change from our usual food routine 😊
