Brunch at a new venue in Milton, Soul Bistro
We took a detour to Milton, and set our stomachs loose on a brunch spot with a unique twist to the usual menu items.
Menu:
First, we had to try out their housemade lemonade, at only $5 it is a great value! (also a nice range of flavors). The berry, and poached apple frappe was a nice way to start the day.
… and of course I needed a coffee, I haven’t had one yet and it was already almost noon 😂.
What we had:
Croissant French Toast
Twisted French Classic-Served With Crisped Bacon, Poached Apples, Ricotta & White Chocolate Cream, Coconut Butterscotch Sauce & Vanilla Ice Cream
Yes, my kind of breakfast to start my day.
Sweet and delicious, on a flaky croissant with so much sauce to help it down.
Seriously, crispy bacon is the best bacon and not lacking in quantity on this plate.
Crispy Hong Kong Puffle
With Char Siu (Chinese Bbq Pork) and Shallot Scrambled Eggs
Not your usual Hong Kong waffle.
Deep-fried, crispy texture and topped with delicious scrambled eggs (my favorite), and savory Char Siu mixed throughout (adequate amounts ❤). I like this savory twist to the usual HK Waffle.
Breakfast Belly Pork Burger
Double Cooked Belly Pork Baked W/ Parmesan & Fresh Herbs, Served With 2 Fried Eggs, Haloumi Cheese, Cinnamon Apple Mustard, Pomegranate Molasses and Turkish Bread
Of course you need burger for breakfast…
Fried eggs, and so much meaty pork belly ❤
Turkish bread is one of my favorites, and the knife through this is a perfect touch.
The toppings are the right amount, and I loved the idea of cinnamon apple mustard.
Summary:
A great tucked away cafe with a nice atmosphere.
The menu is very affordable, and has a nice twist to the usual offerings.
It’s a nice place to relax, and get away from this crazy heat wave.
