The Lord Alfred

First we started off we a relaxing round of beverages to cool us off on this warm day.
She order for both of us a Espresso Martini (her signature) and a crispy refreshing cosmo

Entrees:

Crispy chicken tenders had a great coating from the buttermilk which gave its great crisp, backed up with a nice spicy kick from the cayenne pepper mix.

Oh, Paris mash … Milk, cream, butter, and potato the perfect combination for me. It may not be the healthiest thing in the world but definitely doesn’t affect its great taste ❤

Mains:

Onto the main course… we both we quite hungry, and craving a lot of meat. Needless to say we both went the steak route.

I went the small in size but delicious and filling Eye Fillet. Insanely tender and moist this meaty morsel went down a treat, especially when poured down with the rich and flavorful Darling Downs sauce. It’s simple but done well.

And she went with the 400gm 70 day grain fed MSA OP rib on the bone.
She was very pleased with this, a steak that met her criteria… it is becoming a rarity.
Pairing nicely with the green peppercorn sauce, it had a really great texture, and a complimenting flavor. A really great find.

Dessert:

We had to have dessert… she had it in drink form 😂

Espresso Martini

Apple Rhubarb Crumble …yeah, it was amazing. I love warm apple pie so needless to say this was perfect ❤. Freshly poached rhubarb, apple wedges and spices in a butter shortbread pastry… and the ice cream was pretty lovely too.

Conclusion:

This pub blew me away. The venue, the food, the staff, everything blew away my expectation.
I honestly didn’t think we’d get a steak as nice as we did.
If I could go back.. I’d get the butter chicken, next time :)
