Dinner at Six Acres

Six Acres Restaurant

So the other night I met up some friends, and we treated ourselves to a fine meal.

Menu:

First up to start the evening, Entrees

  1. Oysters Natural (and Chef Special)

  2. Char-grilled Kangaroo Loin
    - Housemade Potato Rosti, sweet baby shallots, Portobello mushrooms

  3. Scallops gratinated
    - Confit garlic & herb butter, aromatic bread crumbs

Next, since there were three of us we thought it was suitable to get three mains, and share ;)

  1. 4 Point rack of lamb
    - Mustard herb crust, ratatouille, garlic & chive butter, wild forest mushrooms

  2. Rib-eye 400 grams w. Shiraz infused red wine jus
    - local sourced, rubbed with aromatic salt flakes, black pepper, & fresh thyme

  3. SIDE: Mushrooms
    - garlic chilli, and herbs

And of course, can't go home without dessert (and we also chose one each)

  1. Vanilla bean creme brule, biscotti, merengue

  2. Six Acres chocolate lovers fondant, white chocolate ice cream, milk chocolate mousse

  3. Warm apple & pecan pie, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce

The meals were nice... but I think we drew some favorites :)

Entrees... the scallops (oysters a close favorite)
Mains... the crusted lamb was insane, couldn't get over that bite. Crispy, then juicy and delicious... would easily order again
Dessert... Creme brule, wow. the flavor and texture was spot on. And of course the piercing crack when you first start to devour. Amazing.

Service was also really good. Enthusiastic server, well knowledgeable, and great with recommendations.
