Breakfast at Okey Dokey
Entering this cafe feels like a totally different experience on the south side.
House-made baked goods, and a menu filled with comfort food… My stomach is ready.
Menu:
Drinks:
On arrival we had to order coffee.
It was close to midday but I still haven’t had my coffee fix.
We ordered two iced long blacks to aid us in waking up.
Strong and delicious, exactly what we needed.
Food:
✔️ Eggs Benedict
- Poached eggs, homemade hollandaise, dark rye, w/ ham (added hash brown)
The classic breakfast dish with everything you need to start your day.
You even have a vegetarian option of pesto, spinach, and mushroom if you prefer that route.
The dark rye was absolutely delicious and the eggs were cooked perfectly.
✔️ Grilled Vegetable & Halloumi Stack
- Grilled seasonal vegetables, halloumi, homemade hollandaise, soft poached egg. (added pastrami, and hash brown)
Ok, ok, I know what you’re thinking.
Why did I get the vegetarian dish?
…well I love halloumi, and I also had the pancakes so this was next on my list 😁.
I really enjoyed the layers of flavor, and all that cheese…so rewarding.
I know I added meat to a vegetarian dish, but I think it really worked nicely… and hash brown just compliments everything.
✔️ Banana Pancakes
- Caramelised banana, honeycomb butter, vanilla whipped mascarpone
Yep, this is me.
Nice big ol’ fluffy pancake.
Thick, moist, and topped with all the goods.
Not gonna lie, it did get the best of me and I couldn’t finish it all 😂.
Would definitely have it again, maybe with bacon.
✔️ Custard Cruffin
- made all in house
Not much to say about this, except I wish I had the jam one with it 😂.
I love that they make their baked goods in house, and they are just so delicious.
The custard was so smooth and tasty, and the bread was crispy on the outside then soft and chewy on the inside. Heavenly.
Summary
I really loved this relaxing cafe.
Service was friendly and fast, and the food quick and delicious.
This may not be near my house, but when I come to the south side this is definitely an option to stop into.
I like the large meeting room they offer.
Also the cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating, and is incredibly spacious.
Definitely need to come back again soon 😊
