Breakfast at Wooden Horse
I have been wanting to come to this place ever since the announced they were doing breakfast.
After being a huge fan of their dinner menu (and the burger š¤¤) I knew I was in for a treatā¦
Lets do it.
Menu:
Drinks: aka, all the coffee
Iced Long Black - my go to and always the best way to wake up to start the day.
Long Black w. Honey - momās choice of breakfast beverage. Wooden Horse surprised her with there creamed honey, so delicious on itās own.
The coffee beans they use is from my local Fonzie Abbott.
Food:
EGGS BENEDICT
poached eggs, buttered spinach, English muffin, hollandaise and bacon
This hollandaise is incredible!
Also the bacon the use is next level, really glad it was added to the french toast later on (*SPOILERS).
Perfect cooked egg on a soft squishy muffin
BOLOGNESE ON TOAST
Veal & pork bolognese, parmesan, fried egg, sourdough
No such thing as too much cheese.
Thin sourdough topped luscious bolognese and another perfectly cooked egg.
PIG WITH BEANS
Chargrilled pork belly, house baked beans, poached egg, grilled sourdough
What a thick piece of pork, paired with nice spicy beans.
CRUNCHY BRIOCHE FRENCH TOAST
Cinnamon sugar, maple, bourbon ice cream with a stack of bacon
What a treatā¦
Super butter french toast, crusted with corn flakes ā¤ļø.
Amazing crunch and still really soft on the inside.
Bacon really took it home, such quality and smokey taste.
Great balance of sweet and salty.
Summary
Love this old wooden venue.
Complete with artwork of nostalgic singers.
Food was incredible, and we definitely ate too much. š
Really loved the corn flake crusted french toast , I know I am a sucker for sweet breakfasts (even though I tried to just go savory this time). Iām really glad I had it.
I really need to come back soon for the dinner menu, the new cola ribs sound incredible ā¤ļø
