Dinner at Papa Rossi

I love when a new venue opens in South Bank, this area just has so much life and I enjoy checking it out every now and then just to see all the changes. So much more to see, but lets check out Papa Rossi. :)

Menu:

Drinks:

Cappuccino Martini and a Prosecco
Sweeter than her usual espresso martini, but still a nice alcoholic and caffeinated kick.
The proscecco was the bubbly delicious that Espresso craved and went down a treat with her.

Food:

✔️ Arancini
- rice balls were filled with beef, asiago cheese and mushrooms, topped with fresh rocket

Four to a plate was a great amount.
I really enjoyed that rich napoli sauce, it was a great start to our evening.
Nothing like an Italian classic.

✔️ Caparccio Di Manzo
- cured eye fillet thinly sliced and drizzled with EVOO and lemon juice topped with rocket and shaved Parmesan

So much cured eye fillet on a plate, but I definitely am not complaining.
Very tender and flavorful, worked nicely with the sharp parmesan cheese.
With entrees this big my expectations for the mains grew.

✔️ Lasagne
- layers of beef mince, bechamel layered sauce, parmesan and cheese and mozzarella served with pear salad

Espresso ordered more than she could eat.
This is her weakness, and all those delicious saucy layers got the best of her.
The pasta was the perfect soft texture that she enjoys.

Mains:

✔️ Linguine Moreton Bay Bugs
- with fresh chilli, vodka and white wine sauce, spinach and parsley

Very generous portions of pasta, and perfectly al dente (my preference).
Bugs were mixed inside and on-top of the pasta, definitely not lacking and a great value.
Between this and finishing the lasagne I was full. 😂

Desserts:

✔️ Tiramisu

Yes, we were full but there is always a space for dessert.
Light, sweet, caffeinated and a great way to end a heavy meal.

Summary

I love that the food scene in South Bank is growing even better.
Can’t wait to see what pops up next.

This was a great date night out.
