New menu: Botero House

New menu: Botero House

My escape from Brisbane City. If you haven't came here and ventured to top floor, just do it. Beautiful, and just relaxing being able to look over the city.

The menu here features some traditional classics but with their twist, like avo on toast (w. Goats cheese, zucchini, beetroot and hummus) and French Toast (w. Sweet and savory options... scroll down 👇 😉)

What we had:

Truffle Mocha

Ok, once I heard that they partnered up with the amazing Kaitlyn of 31 Degrees for this deadly chocolate number... I had to give it a go. The flavor is definitely something you have to be used to, but it's definitely a lovely bitter-sweet drink.

Matcha Latte

Ok so this is a tough one to please people. Some like it strong, while others prefer a mild smooth Matcha flavor. This is more a gentle taste of Matcha, but it is being trialled in a few different ways to make it the best... So I will have to come back later for the final version

Truffled Mushrooms  w. Salmon

(sourdough, garlic butter, tarragon, truffle oil mushrooms, poached eggs)

Initially we weren't going to have this... But after being told it was one of the owners (Sanjay) favorite, we had to give it a crack (and we were glad we did 😊). Delicious, and so enjoyable. Loved the mushrooms soaked in truffle oil 🤤... And the salmon was cooked perfectly to please my partner 😜. Also, the bread was really incredible nice bite and really complemented the dish rather than just being thrown in.

French Toast

(sourdough, icecream, banana, yogurt, seeds, bacon, and maple ♥️)

Yeah... This was me on a menu. Sweet, and bacon 🥓. The best combo to me for breakfast is sweet & savory, and this did it justice. Bacon in more ways than one, loved the bacon crumbs and that crispy maple bacon 😍. Ice cream gave a nice break from the savory goodness, and the maple just helped it all slide down deliciously. Amazing sourdough, really amazing.

Summary:

Really great service with a nice atmosphere in the heart of the CBD. Coffee is always bold & strong, and I always leave feeling great. Can't wait to come back for their lunch menu next 😊.

Also, we had to leave with some coffee... I love their cold drip 👌
