What we had:
✔️ Abalone Chicken & Spicy Soup
I wanted to try the best of both worlds, spicy and more balanced. The spicy had a nice heat without being over the top, but still carrying a great flavor in it. The abalone and chicken was all about flavor, bones inside it to enhance the taste and carry through the premium meat you cook in it. Also, you can adjust the spicy level to suit your tolerance.
✔️ Oxtail Tomato & Mushroom
Espresso isn’t a fan of spicy, so went the neutral route. The oxtail and tomato was a favorite from last time, it just carries a really delicious flavor through it. I think next time I’ll ask for a spicy tomato… That would be perfect to me 😍.
Sauce station
I always go with sesame, chilli oil, chives, and garlic. Never too much garlic ❤️. So many flavor combinations that you can make… And there is even a nice guide to help you if you’re new.
First up…
To start us off we with our favorites for hot pot.
Shelled scallops, enoki mushrooms, sliced potato, tofu, crab claw, pancake, and delicious watermelon juice to wash it down.
I really enjoyed the scallops and crab claw, the scallops were really rich in flavor and included the roe too.
The watermelon juice was a nice amount of sweetness to break through all the savory.
A great way to prepare for what is to come.
The magnificent meat platter
✔️ M9 Wagyu Boneless Short Rib Slices
Beautifully marbled and insanely flavorful. Well worth every cent, it went down a treat in the spicy soup and oxtail tomato soup 🤤. First time having this and definitely not my last. The pieces were given to us as thin slices and thick pieces.
✔️ Rose Matsuzaki Pork
This pork jowl crisped up nicely in the hot soup giving it a nice crunchy meaty satisfaction. Beautiful rose shape pork, so glad it came with two of them.
Summary
Premium meat, amazing atmosphere, and incredible variety.
No, it isn’t the cheapest hotpot but it is definitely one of the best you will find in Brisbane 😊.
Loved the personal hotpot concept, so you can have your own experience. You can have it as spicy as you like without having to worry about others not being able to handle the heat 😉.
Definitely coming back.
