New Venue - Yolk at Newstead
The owner of one of West End’s top cafes, Morning After have opened up a new cafe in Newstead which promises to bring something new while nailing the simple things, let’s try it out.

Had to go the coffee, mainly because I’m useless without it first thing in the morning… and I know from Morning After that they only use quality beans.
The OJ is freshly squeezed to order and pulp free.
Refreshing on these hot winter/spring/ all year days lol.
Food:
Fried chicken for breakfast… why isn’t this more of a thing 😂.
I love how non-complex the menu is, simply laid out and its all comfort food.
We went with Steak & Egg Roll, Fried Chicken Burger. and the Mushroom & Egg Roll.
The bread was fantastic.
Strong enough to hold everything in and still soft and fluffy to enjoy, I was happy to eat it by itself.
Eggs were cooked perfectly runny and you may have to chew carefully to avoid splatter 😋.
The chicken was buttermilk fried and still retained its moist inside while being lightly seasoned.
Definitely eating more of it soon.
Dessert:
Butterbings… delicious brownie cookies filled with a variety of ideas.
Yolk had the special honor of having a custom one created for its launch, a Yolk Butterbing (don’t worry not actually egg flavored 😂).
Apart from that one we also had my favorite, the Peanut Butter Butterbing.
Crisp outside then melts in your mouth, so perfect.
Summary
Beautiful new spot in Gasworks, really suits the area and love the minimal look.
Menu isn’t overly complicated and the price is right.
Can’t wait to try some more.
