A stellar experience at The Star
And so it began .. The road trip to the coast :)
Armed with a box of donuts for the journey, and caffeine flowing in our veins we set out for a night of being spoiled and of relaxation.
The trip begins :)
This was probably the first time ever... but it was a straight journey there, without any traffic or accidents... a road tripmiracle lol. Also, free carparks... Bargain ;)
After a matter of minutes from arrival, I was ready to see the room. In my head, anything would be better than my king single I sleep on at home ( It is a nice bed though lol ). When I opened the door... wow. The windows automatically rolled up and revealed this paradise I would be spending the night in.
My new room <3 ... That bed, I did not want to leave. Haven't slept in a king bed in over 15 years, and now I want to go back to it.
... And I had a little bit of time, so we explored the TV :)
Not gonna lie, the idea of room service was incredibly tempting.
First stop on our trip... Just wait til you see the view of the dining area. :)
Absolutely remarkable. Seriously... you absorb the beauty of the coast from all angles, and it's just a lovely place to just relax and kill time with good company.
A nice start to what was to come ... Spoilers, multiple courses of insanely delicious meals created by an incredibly talented man.
This incredibly talented man, Chase Kojima. I even scored a chance to talk to him 1 on 1 and learn more about him and his ventures. Meet the Chef soon ;) .
You guessed it... Dinner tonight, the award winning Kiyomi. I always dreamt of dining here, and at last my wish came true. I wasn't ready for what all was to come. All I knew was, I was going to sleep really easy afterwards :) .
WARNING... It gets intense ;)
A degustation that just kept being consistently incredible and flavorful.
The kale on the wagyu dish... I'm not a fan of Kale (I think it's because it's green :P ) , but just the way it was prepared in the liquid smoke added a layer to it's already amazing crunch, and made me enjoy every last bit.
... And then some how, I managed to get back to the room and slept.
Such a dream that degustation. Each dish crafted with purpose, and the ambiance of the venue was just dream-like. I loved how even while in a casino, you are transported to a place of fine delicacies.
And then, I woke up... and made my first coffee *Achievement Unlocked - Barista * :P.
Coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, and blueberry danish... It's essentially my dream breakfast. And I actually slept through my usual wake up time, what an incredible night. Time to rush to lunch since I had a bit of a sleep in, and since I was solo now... there was only one stomach all this food could go to lol.
Last stop the new Imperial at the Star, previously Zen Restaurant. With igredients and cooking styles from different regions of China, I knew i was in for a treat.
Fresh mocktails, steamed ship & scallop dumplings, crispy flavorful soft shell crab, and lastly chocolate dessert created all in house. Even the plate was coated in edible goodness :) .
Ok, nap time ... one last look at my room, and then home time.. This food was just so welcoming, my stomach felt at peace.
Seeing the beach from my window... I'm not a beach person, but I love the beautiful sight. Time to head back to reality... until next time Gold Coast, it has been fun :) .
