Naim: New Dinner Menu
Last week, I had the pleasure to come Naim (previous Shoulk) to try out their new menu.
We were in for an incredible feast ❤
Menu:
Drinks:
So espresso wanted two drinks on the menu, so we decided to share a couple 😉
We shared both the Arabian Night and the Persian Sour. The Persian Sour, was punchy with pineapple juice and a nice sour kick… big favorite of Espresso. Where as with my sweet tooth (mouth), Arabian Night was my pick lol. Sweet & light, with a hint of mint… it was great.
Entree: Brisket Shared Platter
Initially the Duck Pate was picked in a heartbeat.
I have a certain soft spot for it… but when Chef Vince came out and told us they sold out he had an amazing alternative, Brisket.
Tender, smokey and enjoyable to the end. Accompanied with a sultana salad and a rich mustard sauce to cut through… Great start to a wonderful evening.
Mains:
CRISPY SKIN CHICKEN BREAST
red charmoula sauce, grilled corn tabbouleh, pickled banana peppers, crispy parsley
Such a moist chicken.
Breast is such a hard piece to do correctly, but this was very well… and with crispy skin to go with it. Great flavors with the moroccan sauce, and the tabbouleh. But I really enjoyed the flavor the pickled banana peppers gave 🤤
FLAT IRON STEAK
grilled sharwarma spiced steak, crispy Jerusalem artichokes, tomato raisins, smoked jus
This is the other main we had (we both picked this lol), what a treat. Its that simple steak dish but with a nice twist. Really loved dipping it in the jus & sour cream. Cooked perfectly medium rare ❤.
DESSERT TIME:
Because you can’t have dinner without it :)
And being the sweet tooth I may have had a ‘little’ influence in the selection… but I think my companion enjoyed the choices 😋
PEACHES N’ CREAM PAVLOVA
maple roasted peaches, Baharat cream, lemon meringue
So this took me by surprise, this was not the pavlova I was expecting.
I loved that warm Baharat cream, and the peaches were sweet but this dish was very well balanced. The sorrel really took me by surprise by adding that sour apple taste.
SEMIFREDDO
dark chocolate pie, roasted peanut crumble, halva
So ok, this was the first item that I wanted. I mean chocolate, peanuts, and halva… what is there not to love. Halva is a happy place for me, sweet but packs a punch. The dark chocolate was bitter in taste but delicious, it was a great contrast for the sweets it was surrounded by. Definitely would eat again in a heartbeat 😍
SUMMARY
We had an amazing time.
Great service, food, and experience. I can’t wait to revisit, maybe next time for breakfast.
As a going away gift we were given a jar of preserved lemons, I can’t wait to see how Espresso uses them in a dish for me 😋.
