Blackmarket Bar and Grill
Earlier this week I had the privilege to check out this new dinning area w. Espresso and Matcha. They specialize in locally sourced produce that is within 100km on of the restaurant. We already had a sneak at the menu, so we already had our eyes on some mouth watering goodies 😊.
Menu:
Drinks:
It should come to no surprise now what we will choose lol.
Espresso and her espresso martini curiosity, and my innate coffee addiction we were in for a caffeinated ride.
Making the Iced Coffee
Fare:
Steak… that is the first thing we both said and we had to have it. With Espresso being a fan of rare meats (good on her) she voted for it, but we were suggested to go Medium-Rare due to the cut so we followed the suggestion. The other many I was feeling mashed potatoes and the Pork Chop sounded really nice for this sunny day, Entree we picked Calamari (to not have too many fries 😋)
Entree: CALAMARI
Tender, lightly crumbed and delicious. Nice little kick from the preserved lemon mayo, and a good tease for what was to come.
Main 1: RIB FILLET 200g
You know the slaw is good when you get told to try some by a diehard Carnivore 😂.
Locally sourced from Lockyer Valley it just had a nice crunch with zesty lemon kick. But back to that steak, nice crust, lightly season, juicy, and chewy. And complemented by the rich jus.
Main 2: OKTOBERFEST PORK CHOP
Oh mashed potatoes… such a comfort food to me.
Accompanied with locally sourced Queensland Pork was a great match. Juicy, nice bite, and delicious. The house-made pickle was a nice touch 😊
Dessert:
Of course we had too, it’s illegal to finish a meal without dessert (or it should be 😉)
The choice was easy since they ran out of the citrus slice (next time). So we ended up with their Affogato, what a nice pick ❤
Made with own freshly ground espresso, it was a sensation experience. And the Toffee crunch ice cream had as fighting for the last scoop of ice-cream. Our hearts were racing lol.
Summary:
We had an amazing time during our lunch break.
Friendly staff and beautiful venue.
Can’t wait to come back for that Citrus Pie and Moreton Bay Bug Linguine
