Piesolation at Pie Town
10 years ago, when you thought of where to get pie - you’d think of Yatala.
Now….it's Pie Town in West End.
Pie Town uses sustainable ingredients - meaning locally sourced and seasonal fruit and vegetables. So their pies always taste great with freshest ingredients.
The baker (Mayor of Pie Town) also seems super creative! The pies I’ve had at the shop are quite unique to Brisbane! Never have I had, in Brisbane have I had Peach cobbler pie before!
Chunks of peach - chunks you can actually see, with delicious thick pastry…...yum! 😍
Key Lime Pie, Banoffee Pie, Snickers pie, Death by chocolate….🤤 these are some of the few that I can remember!
Vegan pies, vegetarian pies, meat pies….all different dietary requirements seem to be catered to quite nicely! (They also do Gluten Free pies 💪)
Menu:
Their pies, can be considered a little bit costly….but when you’ve had any of their pies…..it is definitely hefty in its weight! So extremely worth the price you pay for!
As an American, living in Brisbane, I’ve come to appreciate the delicious art of the simple but brilliant meat pie. I’ve recently enjoyed a few meat pies (Miss Y really loves her pies 😂) and her recent obsession has kinda led us to visiting Pie Town twice last week. 😅
I’ve loved their pies ever since discovering Pie Town in Wandering Cooks all those years ago. I had a sweet pie, and was completely hooked! I happened to take Miss Y there once, quite some time ago and I fear I’ve gotten Miss Y hooked also on their pies! 😂
What I really love about Pie Town, is that they offer pies that you don’t really see in Brisbane….pies that I used to get back in the states! Pumpkin pie, peach cobbler pie and key lime pie, I really miss those. 😔😞 I am also a sucker for their sweet pies, especially that PB&J pie… please come back... 😞
So when Miss Y asked if we could go to Pie Town….who was I to say no?! 😂 (I may have…. on occasion dropped the ‘p’ word…. shhhh)
So, when we went to Pie Town, we looked at our options (which were many 😂) closed our eyes...and let our stomach choose! We ended up with on those 2 separate occasions; Pepper beef pie and Chicken pot pie (with a side of peach cobbler pie! Hey! It’s peach season….who could say no! 😂)
The pies (on both occasions) were full to the brim, with filling! The pastry was very thick, baked perfectly….It tasted soooooo good! Even just walking into the shop you could just smell the tantalizing smell of buttery pastry waffling in the air….it was so heavenly I could live there forever 🤤
So it is a bit expensive, but personally….you can taste it in quality!
For me that is well worth the price, and also all the effort that goes into making the perfect pie. There is a lot of love and effort that goes into making these pies…. and I can not wait to be ‘allowed back’ into the shop once everyone is more settled.
Summary:

PS: The shop and package is extremely appealing! The box packaging they use is a red box. The design of their shop is a very visible red house!! It’s pretty as a house! And very memorable! You can spot it easily! 😁
And easily….the staff are lovely! 😊
